Our Clinic

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely! Our intake forms will be delivered to your inbox so keep your eyes peeled. Our amazing admin staff will contact your prior to your appointment if there is anything else we require.

No, you do not need a referral as we are primary health care practitioners. Simply call the clinic to arrange an appointment.

If you printed out your intake paperwork please bring that with you.

We ask that you please bring any relevant imaging or reports to assist your osteopath in making an accurate assessment. This includes x-rays, MRI scans, CT scans, ultrasounds and any other tests results you feel will be relevant.

Please also bring a list of current medications and supplements, including dosage.

Please wear comfortable clothing.

When you arrive, you will be asked to fill out a “Patient Questionnaire” (if you haven’t already done so). This will detail your past medical history and your presenting complaint.

Your treating professional will then show you through to a treatment room where they will take a thorough history of your presenting complaint. They will also focus on a detailed medical history so it is important that you please bring any test results, imaging and/or a list of current medications/supplements with you.

Following this, your treating professional will perform a thorough physical examination of your presenting complaint and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on examination which includes assessing motion, comparing sides, and evaluating the implications on structure and function. They will then use this information to form a comprehensive diagnosis.

Treatment will consist of a wide variety of proactive manual techniques. Each treatment is individualised to you and aimed at restoring a sense of balance within your body.

Your treating professional will also offer advice on rehabilitation, exercise, stretches, dietary and postural changes if they feel it will assist you in your recovery.

Every patient that visits our clinic has different requirements. Your treating health professional will outline your proposed management plan and prognosis at the end of your initial treatment, or following a new presenting complaint.

Generally, the longer a problem has been there, the longer it will take to overcome. Other factors such as management compliance, problem chronicity and treatment frequency will all alter your outcome and overall number of treatments required.

Absolutely! Pregnancy places a variety of strains and pressures on a mother’s body, most commonly your neck (headaches), back, pelvis and legs. Not to mention the hormonal effect on all your ligaments and joints. Pain, unfortunately for some, feels like it is just par for the course.

If this sounds like you, then manual therapy is the perfect option to help maintain balance and improve your wellbeing throughout this wonderful stage in your life. Pain may not be something you need to endure. We will provide you a safe and individualised treatment. Your comfort and the safety of yourself and your unborn bub are paramount to us.

Many of our health professionals have undertaken further training in treating and managing pregnancy-related complaints. We also have a support pillow especially for mums-to-be that we will use throughout your treatment if required.

Payment is expected at the time of your appointment. Payment can be made by cash, EFTPOS, credit card or cheque.

Patients may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan for Osteopathy, Exercise Physiology and Podiatry. This must be in place and initiated by a GP before treatment commences.

HICAPS facilities are available for on-the-spot health fund claims. As long as you bring your membership card, and your private health fund covers osteopathic, exercise physiology or podiatry services in their extras packages, then you will only pay the gap on the day.

Our practitioners are all registered to treat third party patients.

For TAC and WorkCover patients:

  • we ask that you please inform our receptionists at the time of booking your appointment
  • you will need to provide the clinic with your claim number, the name of the contact person your insurer has given you, your insurer’s details and any other pertinent details so we can add them to your file
  • please note that you will be required to settle your account at the time of your appointment
  • as we are a private billing practice, there will be a gap payment

For DVA patients:

  • please ensure you have a current referral from your GP or specialist for a treatment cycle
  • treatment cycle referrals are only valid for 12 sessions or 1 year, whichever ends first
  • there is no limit to the number of treatment cycles you can have, you simply need to update your referral

We strongly advocate a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment and management of your condition when required. We recognise the importance that medical and allied health professionals play in maintaining optimal health for you.

We have developed a fantastic referral network within our community, including general practitioners, maternal and child health nurses, specialists, and radiologists.

Please ask your treating health professional if you require more information.

Certainly! Pregnancy, labour and delivery can take an enormous toll on a mother’s body, most commonly your low back, pelvic floor, pelvis and tummy. Then there’s the constant repetition of feeding, standing, sitting, changing, holding; in and out of cars, cots, chairs, prams…the list goes on! This is usually when imbalances and dysfunctions present themselves.

Many of our health professionals have undertaken further training in treating and managing post-partum complaints. They understand that your body requires time to heal and will adjust their treatments accordingly. Gentle techniques are generally accommodated to help ease your body back to its previous physical condition.
